Beth Ferguson

Designer, Inventor, Artist, and Educator
Beth Ferguson is the founding director of Sol Design Lab, a design/build studio that specializes in solar charging stations and public art. She is the inventor of the SolarPump Charing Station and has collaborated with public utilities, festivals, urban parks, and universities to position solar energy as a civic and public resource. She has engaged thousands of participants in the development of projects such as solar charging stations, up-cycled public furniture, Climate Kits and Community Green Maps. Beth Ferguson is Assistant Professor of Design at The University of California Davis where she teaches sustainable design. In 2015-16 she co-produced Climate Kit in Dunedin, New Zealand with designer Sara Dean, commissioned by ZERO1 American Arts Incubator, in partnership with the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.
